The soup is good and the jerk chicken is amazing! Platters start at $10.

Stumbled across this place pretty late in the evening so I decided to pull the door to see if they were still open . I asked was there any more food left in a polite manner and the woman cleaning the kitchen looked at me and my friend like I had two heads and said no in a very nasty tone. She didn’t tell me the store hours and when to come back just brushed me off like I was a crackhead or something. I guess I wont be trying this place out ever. I can’t stand a nasty mean attitude .clearly she doesn’t need my business .

This is hand downs my favorite Jamaican place in town. The portion sizes are excellent, many options across seafood, chicken, goat, beef, and veggie, always fully stocked. A favorite is curried shrimp, though this time I tried a small oxtail plate. Meaty portions and plenty to eat. I mostly take away, but one can easily sit down.amd enjoy your food.

Trying out a new establishment in the area, this place for the value gives you plenty of portions, the jerk had good flavor along with the curry, I wish there was callaloo but the collards green were great as well. My wife really enjoyed the Mac and Cheese, next time she'll order the large to enjoy it more :). Minus the parking situation, this is a good spot to get your carribean fix, I'll definitely be returning in the future.

Last night we ordered a take-out from Jamaican Empire (located in East Trenton, between North Clinton and North Olden avenues) and we are happy to report that the food was good.
The oxtail stew offered in medium and large sizes, and there is a wide variety of choices (two choices per order), from fried plantains and mac & cheese to white rice, rice and peas, or steamed vegetables). The most popular side usually served with oxtail, steamed cabbage, is served by Jamaican Empire as steamed veggies, with addition of corn and carrots.
The prices are cheaper that at most of the competitors (large portion is sold for $20 through GrubHub vs $27 or $29 offered by other Jamaican restaurants in the area), the food was good, the proportion of meat and sides very decent.
